چکیده

In this paper, we propose an advanced time integration technique associated with explicit exponential Rosenbrock-based methods for the simulation of large stiff systems nonlinear coupled oscillators. particular, a novel reformulation these is introduced and general family efficient Rosenbrock schemes simulating reformulated system derived. Moreover, show required regularity conditions prove convergence We present implementation new approach discuss several applications in scientific visual computing. The accuracy efficiency our are demonstrated through broad spectrum numerical examples, including Fermi–Pasta–Ulam–Tsingou model, elastic nonelastic deformations as well collision scenarios focusing on relevant aspects such stability energy conservation, stiffness, high fidelity, accuracy.

Efficient simulation of unsaturated flow using exponential time integration

We assess the performance of an exponential integrator for advancing stiff, semidiscrete formulations of the unsaturated Richards equation in time. The scheme is of second order and explicit in nature but requires the action of the matrix function φ(A) = A−1(eA − I) on a suitability defined vector v at each time step. When the matrix A is large and sparse, φ(A)v can be approximated by Krylov su...

Reviving oscillations in coupled nonlinear oscillators.

By introducing a processing delay in the coupling, we find that it can effectively annihilate the quenching of oscillation, amplitude death (AD), in a network of coupled oscillators by switching the stability of AD. It revives the oscillation in the AD regime to retain sustained rhythmic functioning of the networks, which is in sharp contrast to the propagation delay with the tendency to induce...

-Symmetric Dimer of Coupled Nonlinear Oscillators

We provide a systematic analysis of a prototypical nonlinear oscillator system respecting PT -symmetry i.e., one of them has gain and the other an equal and opposite amount of loss. Starting from the linear limit of the system, we extend considerations to the nonlinear case for both soft and hard cubic nonlinearities identifying symmetric and anti-symmetric breather solutions, as well as symmet...

Modeling the Olfactory Bulb - Coupled Nonlinear Oscillators

The olfactory bulb of mammals aids in the discrimination of odors. A mathematical model based on the bulbar anatomy and electrophysiology is described. Simulations produce a 35-60 Hz modulated activity coherent across the bulb, mimicing the observed field potentials. The decision states (for the odor information) here can be thought of as stable cycles, rather than point stable states typical o...

Frequency analysis with coupled nonlinear oscillators

We present a method to obtain the frequency spectrum of a signal with a nonlinear dynamical system. The dynamical system is composed of a pool of adaptive frequency oscillators with negative mean-field coupling. For the frequency analysis, the synchronization and adaptation properties of the component oscillators are exploited. The frequency spectrum of the signal is reflected in the statistics...
